I set up this blog when I was pregnant, and its original title was "Peanut Butter Goes with Everything" - because it did, at the time. I have always enjoyed peanut butter, and probably always will, but post-pregnancy, it doesn't seem like the most appropriate title anymore. I didn't actually post anything while I was pregnant, as I had other projects on the go, such as stocking my freezer with post-baby meals, making cloth diapers, and preparing for our home birth. Now that my son is here and we've settled into a bit of a routine, I thought I'd try again.
The new title comes from my son's birth story: Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a planner. I like lists, projects, and being prepared for anything; but nothing, and I mean nothing, could have prepared me for Atticus' birth.
The story of his birth has been told by several news reporters, and retold (somewhat inaccurately, I'm sure) by family members, friends, and acquaintances. Now I want to tell it myself.
I also want to share some of the results of the research I did preparing for his birth, some of the projects I've worked on, recipes I've tried, and anything else that I think might be of interest to someone.
